The 36th Annual E.S. Luttrell Lecutre to be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the UGA Science Learning Center (room 0085). A reception will begin at 10:00 AM in the lobby outside of the lecture hall.
The annual E.S. Luttrell Lecture is the University of Georgia Department of Plant Pathology's signature event each year, and many distinguished speakers have come to UGA to give research presentations since the lecture's inauguration in 1990. The lecture series is named after E.S. Luttrell, a renowned mycologist, research mentor, and administrator at the University of Georgia.
The 36th E.S. Luttrell Lecture will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the UGA Science Learning Center (room 0085). This year's presenter will be Dr. Cathie Aime, Professor of Botany & Plant Pathology and Director of the Arthur Fungarium and Kriebel Herbarium at Purdue University. The title of her lecture will be "The Coffee Leaf Rust Fungus: Unraveling the Origins and Causes of a Notorious Phytopathogen".
