Academic Background:
Ph.D. Biological Sciences, Vanderbilt University, 2024
M.S. Entomology and Plant Pathology, University of Tennessee, 2016
B.S. Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Tennessee, 2014
Research Interests and Current Efforts:
I am a mycologist using bioinformatics, genomics, and machine learning to explore the evolution of fungal pathogens of humans and plants. My lab uses population genomics and phylogenetics to examine how genome plasticity, strain heterogeneity, and mobile genetic elements evolve and impact pathogenicity. Current research focuses on variation within Aspergillus and Fusarium, two important fungal genera containing both human and plant pathogens.
