Research Interests and Current Efforts
I work with diverse host-pathogen-environment systems to better understand and manage plant disease challenges, focusing on fungal, oomycete, and bacterial pathogens in urban and controlled environments such as community gardens, urban farms, hoop houses, high tunnels, hydroponics, and aeroponics. My research is driven by tailored, integrated strategies informed by needs-based assessments and strong collaborations with stakeholders and scientists. I aim to develop sustainable plant disease management solutions that directly benefit producers while bridging the gap between lab and land, farm and fork, through science communication. In addition to research, I lead an extension program fostering a two-way learning process, promoting a generative, data-driven approach that translates scientific research into practical, actionable solutions for the agricultural community.
